Introduction to iontophoresis
Iontophoresis: let's get started! Welcome to your therapy against sweating
Every beginning is a challenge and presents small hurdles to overcome
We want to make sure that your iontophoresis device and thus your iontophoresis therapy are adjusted as good as possible.
At the beginning, a little patience is paramount, along with the right information, treatment tips, and reading material.
You have chosen an iontophoresis device and want to start the therapy.
The effect of the iontophoresis therapy usually sets in quite suddenly.
If you are successful, you will achieve dryness from one day or sometimes even one second to the next. This usually happens within 3-10 days of your initial therapy.
Some users achieve a gradual success, which usually takes a little longer to complete and achieve 100% dryness.
And at least: Not everyone is successful with iontophoresis. In these cases, a careful look at all parameters will become necessary.
This may be related to the fact that the majority of iontophoresis users can only set relatively low currents at the beginning. These can usually be increased relatively quickly after a certain while, which explains both the spontaneous and the delayed effect.
Spontaneous effects usually set in when the threshold value of the effect has been reached at an early therapy stage - i.e., the effect already takes place at low treatment currents.
Delayed effects usually set in when the threshold value of the effect is reached relatively late and only once higher currents have been introduced into the skin to reach success.
Help, I'm sweating more after the first therapies with iontophoresis
In the beginning, it is possible that your sweating will increase a little. Don't worry, you are not alone with this experience. It is a positive indicator of the success to be expected.
Note: Increased sweating in the beginning of the iontophoresis therapy is usually a sign that the therapy is starting to work.
Once you have stopped sweating, you should take breaks. Otherwise, there will be a risk of over-therapy, which results in an overly dry or even cracked upper skin layer.
After a successful initial therapy, the sweating will usually return to its former intensity within 3-4 weeks if no further treatment sessions are carried out.
The maintenance therapy that follows after the initial therapy varies from person to person. This means that you will have to find out your individual rhythm and the length of the breaks you can take.
Most people perform 1-2 sessions a week. There are, however, always extreme cases: a good friend of the boss needs to perform only one foot treatment of ten minutes at 5 mA every 6 months to keep the success. Another friend needs to treat his feet at full power for half an hour every day to keep the sweat away.
Important: First of all, you should perform your treatments according to the manuals.
A beginner's mistake that should be avoided: what's the best water level?
Currents: Which current setting is the right one for iontophoresis?
Initially, most of us can withstand only low electric currents around 1-3 mA without feeling uncomfortable during the treatment.
The skin needs to become accustomed to the treatment.
Gradually, the currents can be increased.
Many users can achieve the maximum treatment current for the feet (25 mA), the hands (15 mA) or the armpits (5 mA) after 5-10 treatments with a pulsed current device. The maximum current a person perceives as comfortable is extremely varied and can range between 1-25 mA or 1-160 volts.
Therefore: tingles are a sign not to raise the current further!
This article is in addition to the operating instructions. If the operating instructions deviate from this article content in any way, the operating instructions of the respective manufacturer apply. Don't be too ambitious, always listen to your body. If you feel tingles during the treatment, it's a sign that the skin is receiving enough electricity.
In case of direct current devices, the most important question is whether high currents can be achieved in the first place.
Again: don't show too much ambition, be aware of your own body. It is best to work with a pulsed current iontophoresis device right away (please contact us for a test or an exchange).
Under no circumstances should the therapy hurt!
If you are unsure about the treatments or if you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Every person needs an individual level of accumulated treatment time during the initial therapy.
This may be 10 minutes, 1 hour or 15 hours of therapy.
But don't aim for the 15 hours straight away! 15 minutes a day should be enough to get you started.
The therapy time can be added up within a reasonable period of 7-10 days (Magic Number).
As long as this time threshold has not been achieved, it is impossible to tell whether the therapy is working. The longer you perform iontophoresis treatments and the better your parameters are set, the more likely you are to achieve success.
Especially in the beginning, the most important rule is: patience!
If you are unsuccessful after 3 weeks of daily treatment, please contact us. Please note the page "No success after 3 weeks of treatment according to the operating instructions"
The first 3 weeks are important in order to get used to the device and the electricity, as well as to prevent negative skin reactions.
Usually, you will be able to increase the current very quickly within the first few treatment sessions and reach strong working currents.
Low currents, especially in the beginning, can usually be viewed as marginal and not particularly effective.
Nevertheless, it makes no sense to increase the current to the maximum limit right from the start!
Give your body time. You should get used to the therapy in peace.
After 3 weeks, your body and your skin should be used to the iontophoresis treatment, and you will have gathered enough treatment time to achieve the desired effect.
In any case: we have an extra long money-back guarantee, because in extreme cases the full 8 weeks of daily initial treatment sessions are required to see whether the treatment will take an effect.
A complete lack of success is very rare if the user follows our tips and advice and works closely with our support.
The initial phase can be tough to get through, but a good success is the best reward. It's so nice to be dry!
Important:
Longer treatment times + higher currents = more success.
Therapy requires time. Success usually does not happen overnight, a certain amount of electricity is needed before any effects take place.
Or to put it simply:
Electricity multiplied by time = success. As long as the product of electricity and time has not exceeded a certain individual factor, there is no or only a gradual effect in most cases.
The therapy must never cause pain at any time. Please don't be falsely ambitious regarding the current strength. An excessive current strength is actually counterproductive.
If you have problems, give our support a chance. We will do everything we can to ensure that you are successful.
